Why is there no web site with a list of factory wheels with diameter, width, offset, hub center, and bolt pattern that is searchable?
I'm trying to find a good set of winter wheels and tires for my G35 coupe, because I don't feel like running the hard-to-find 17" watanabes all winter.
(picture related, the G35 with the wheels)
I figure a set of used factory wheels would be the cheapest thing to mount some nice winter tires on.
From what I've found, SN95 Mustang wheels might work, although they're a bit wider than I was looking for.
Is there a site where you can do this?
If so, post it.
If not, give me suggestions for cheap factory wheels to throw winter tires on!
specs (what I'd like):
(17x8 max, and nothing smaller than 17 fits)
17x7 ,
5x114.3,
offset no more than +35, preferably less than +30.

If I recall correctly, doesn't TireRack have something exactly like that? It only lets you view their inventory, and I don't think it factors in wheels of slightly different sizes that will still fit no problem, but I remember having fun with it a while ago. It even lets you preview the wheels on your car.
Whoops, just realized you're looking for standard wheels from other cars... That I'm not sure about.

I swapped my Mustang's 17x9s onto my mom's G35 one time in college, seemed to fit fine to me. These puppies would be great winter wheels:

it doesn't allow factory wheels from other cars.

They would, except pretty wide and pretty expensive....

that's better, but I'm trying to get 215/60/17s on there, and anything 8" wide will look pretty stretched on 215s. I want those because I want to run taller, skinnier tires than stock in winter, such is what I've heard is a good idea. the taller tires because this car has stupid low ground clearance, and I've always heard you should run skinnier tires in winter, and I've got 225s on the front right now...

Yeah I didn't think about the tire width at all, that was on 245s.

Here:

Use TireRack to determine which offsets will work.

heh. there's a $300 difference in the tires I want between 215/60s and 245/45s.

I have seen this list before, but it is very helpful. it is also saddening, as the vehicles with wheels large enough in diameter are few and far between, and their wheels are generally still expensive. like finding a set of 3000GT VR-4 wheels or Stealth AWD Turbo. Acura MDX wheels would work, but they're still expensive as well.

And yet, RX300 spare steelies in brand new un-used condition are hella cheap.
:P

Sadly, I don't think 16s will fit, it's already pretty close on the calipers with 17s.

Get some 350Z wheels, they're usually for sale on craigslist with decent tires here in CA.
I'd just get another set of RPF1's, but I have a wheel problem...

I could, they are cheaply available near me. but they're super high offset I think, and while they'll fit, I was trying to do something different...

Certainly no reason to go so wide for winter tires, at least as far as conventional wisdom says (I'm from Texas, I have no clue what I'm talking about)

Exactly. my stock size is 225/50/17. I'm trying to go to 215/60 so I get taller and skinnier.

Sorry, was talking about my Camry. I used the list to make a choice for my past few vehicles, along with a few forums with good info.

WAT Racing. Now you just need a #FreeFrosty sticker.

Nah. I need to put my other WAT Racing sticker on there, along with adorable WAT-tan.
